Description

7th Perek, piece 2. A person can be involved in maous shel Torah (the rejection of the Torah) simply by not learning on the level that he is capable of learning. The warriors of Torah carry Mishnayos under their belts, meaning they have a tremendous breadth of Torah knowledge. The Rambam says to first get a bekius (broad knowledge) in Torah, then spend most of your learning time in Gemara. The Gra says that it is better to know a little very well than a lot not well. The Chofetz Chaim encouraged the Gra's path of learning the Rosh and the Rif with the Gemara.
