Description

Sixth Perek, 9th Torah. Learning practical halacha and Mishna has the special benefit of helping you to bring the Torah's concepts into practical, tangible reality, and it straightens out your mind. A person not well-grounded in Mishna and halacha can get lost in the deeper parts of Torah. The goal in learning pnimius (the inner dimension of Torah) is to approach big ideas with pashtus (simplicity). A person with gadlus in chochma (great in big concepts) can become lost because they don't pay attention to the details. Being a shipwrecked Jew means not making it to the right destination through failure to bring the conceptual down into the practical. Hashem created the world with both great idealism (big ideas) and great attention to every detail.
