Description

Through hisbonenus (meditation) on Hashem's greatness, we can come to a great yearning. When Moshiach comes we will see that Hashem is the source of all life. In galus (exile) we can only have a thirst to see Hashem's presence. The more we love Hashem, the greater our hatred for evil and impurity. Only after the destruction of the First Beis HaMikdash (The First Holy Temple) was the fixed order of tefillah (prayer) established. In Psukei D'Zimra (Verses of Song in the Silent Prayer) we can awaken our thirst for Hashem through deeply thinking about the words. Torah and tefillah need to be connected.
