Description

P. 129. A new maamar: Chacham v'Tam (The Wise One and The Simple One). The natural desire of a Jew is to be constantly seeking Hashem, but sometimes the noise of the world drowns out that desire, that niggun (tune). A mashal (parable) is a ladder that helps us understand, and once you have the nimshal (the teaching), you don't need the mashal anymore. In stories of tzaddikim, you have look deeper into what Hashem is revealing through that tzaddik's miracle. One way to learn is to focus on one nekudah and to focus on it deeply, not being distracted by all of the options. This requires vitur (letting go) of the desire to acquire content.
