Description

P. 101. On Shavuos, there is a din (judgment) that comes down about how much Torah we will be able to learn that year. When a person is being judged, he thinks about himself. Din is to make a distinction between two things. The best way to understand the relationship between Hashem and us is through learning about a the pnimius (inner dimension) of a chassana (wedding) in this world. On Shavuos, we should be in a good mood and want to be pleasing to Hashem in general without going into details. The right thing to do on Shavuos is to say the Tikkun Leil Shavuos, not to learn Torah each night. It is very hard these days to just experience the chagim (holy days). What always comes to a person's mind is the association of obligation and judgment with Hashem, and not the association of love and excitement.
