Description

The scepter remains in the hands of the king because it represents the unknowable essence of Hashem. Esther touching the tip of the scepter shows that we are obliged to reflect on how Hashem's light enters our world. A tzaddik and parent reflect the duality of Hashem's relationship with the world. When insult is directed to a tzaddik he remains unaffected, but when directed to other Jews he becomes enraged. A parent must play like a child with his children and yet remain a parent.
