Description

A Jew who uses his sechel (logical mental faculties) can purify his "outer" heart to strengthen his fullfilment of Torah and mitzvos (commandments). Torah relates to "inner" organs; whereas mitzvos relate to "outer" organs. Without Torah there is no Yiddishkeit. Ahavas (love of) Hashem is likened to a mountain so we can rise above the limitations of flat "life." It is not enough just to think about Hashem- we need to combine observance with meditative thought. When we perform a mitzvah we draw a great higher light into ourselves. Talmud (study of) Torah is the greatest of the mitzvos.
