Description

The bris (covenant) between Hashem and the Jewish people is like the love between two lovers that transcends conditions, reason, and logic. Even when there is a good reason that the love should be terminated, it nonetheless continues. Marriage is a bris which makes two into one flesh. The greatest simcha (joy) in the world is when our children outshine us. The love between Avraham and Sara continued after her death. The relationship between the Jewish people and Eretz Yisrael ( Land of Israel) is like a male and female. In Hevron, Hashem's love for us is not visible on the surface. We forgive ourselves because we love ourselves.
