Description

Fighting thoughts will be hard before becoming natural. Bad thoughts defile a person's mind. After prolonged success in controlling thoughts, the yetzer hara (evil inclination) will ease off. The satisfaction of overcoming a lust is infinitely greater than giving it to it. The feeling of nitzachon (victory) is the greatest pleasure. To be a Jew is to be victorious over ourselves. Giving in to a weakness leads to feelings of failure. Logically, it should not feel good to deny ourselves pleasure.
