Description

The imagination can increase the power of emotions. Analyzing emotions weakens them. A feeling weakens quicker than a thought or image. Meditating on the negative results of a lust can cool it down. The best way to succeed in the milchama (war) against the yetzer hara (evil inclination) is to practice. Practice strengthens the mind, gives confidence, and makes us warriors. We cannot just let ourselves do whatever we feel and want. True spirituality is the strength to know when to say yes and no to ourselves.
