Description

User-friendly seforim are meant to give access, not replace hard work. Main study in yeshiva should be sitting with the gemorah. In both learning and mitzvos, only hard work will make you great. In the old days, they worked harder for their mitzvos. The Kedushas Levi: the real voice of the shofar comes from the krechs (back breaking sighs) of pesach cleaning. Kids in yeshiva shouldn’t have Artscroll. There are different levels of hard work in davening, from not talking to standing with the Shechinah (Divine presence). It’s easy for parents to blame schools for failure in chinuch (education). A servant of Hashem doesn’t hide from their "lacks", they are searching for them. The highest honor is to be called an oved (servant).
