Description

Yirah (awe- fear) itself can’t be understood; we can only look at its effects. Our self-bias prevents us from seeing the truth about ourself. We can destroy our life by not admitting failure. We should always suspect ourself when making a cheshbon nefesh (moral accounting). A sign for hislahavus (enthusiasm) is that we can’t stop crying and emoting. A sign for hisragshus (emotional feeling) is we can stop, but the emotion lingers. A feeling Jew davens (prays) with heartache and longing for Hashem. Nowadays people can’t handle unpleasantness.
