Torah causes whatever is inside us to grow- for better or worse. Preparation- teshuvah (repentance) and mikveh- are essential for Shavuos. The little bit of Torah stolen by Yishmael and Esav led to much destruction. Rise up to the Torah’s level rather than lowering it to ours. We should be ready to give up our deepest desires.
