Description

Regarding the Halachik status of dreams: Can a dream be relied upon as evidence in a case of establishing the death of a man and permitting his wife to re-marry? Can a revelation in a dream be relevant to the case of a married man who died without children to permit his widow to re-marry without chalitza? Can a dream establish an obligation to exhume a body and relocate it's burial place? We will study the response of the Chatam Sofer in the case of the re-burial of the famous R' Mordechai Benett when the latter appeared in a dream & demanded that the Chatam Sofer do so. What if one is notified in a dream that he has taken a vow or has been put into 'nidui'? What is 'hatavas chalom', taanit chalom, & the prayer for improving one's dream?
