Description

From Beis Yaakov (Toldos, 43). When Yitzchak blesses Yaakov, he seemingly adds on a blessing. He uses the word "Va-yitein" when describing the goodness that God should bestow on Yaakov. The "vav" at the beginning of the word is a "connecting vav." This teaches us that God gives and then immediately goes back and gives more. Nothing in our lives is an add on from God. God is constantly bestowing goodness and life on us and is never absent from the picture. The Esav approach is to take what God gives once, and run with it, as if God is done. However, a Jew must realize that God is always in the picture, always leaving us corners of his field for us to glean from. Regardless of where and when it comes from, God is the owner, always.
