Description
We will study the name change of Avrahahm in Parshat Vayeira and analyze the status of Avraham as the father of Geirim, based upon the insights of the Ramchal in his classic 'Derech HaShem'. Since the creation of Adam HaRishon, mankind is divided into Roots, trees, and branches. We will appreciate the difference between Israel and the nations, and the special role of our People. But if the branches reflect the characteristics of the roots, how are we to understand the process of Geirus? In fact the mishna in Bikurim excludes the Ger from reciting Mikra Bikurim and the opening of the Amida: 'Elokei Avoseinu'.
