From Meor Einayim (Lech Lecha). All of our emotions are small expressions of the 10 Sefirot, which are the expression of God in this world. Therefore, there is an interplay between all of our emotions and many levels that require tending and fixing. Since the shattering of the vessels of Creation, man has been trying to fix a place for God down below. This begins when a Jew begins to see his entire life as an expression of Godliness and focuses completely on this endeavor. If we see a certain emotion "falling down," we have the ability to elevate it to its true state. God is always present and require us to dig to uncover his light in the world but especially in our lives.
