Description

Avraham receives the mandate Lech Lecha, which alludes to the "lichluch" i.e. the spiritual impurity of the society in which Avraham founds himself. In this shiur we will discuss the impact of one's society on one's soul. We will see this concept in the Rambam, Rabenu Bechai and others, and this is the message of the very first verse of the book of Tehilim. We will offer a new insight into the blessing bestowed upon Yishmael that he will be a "pera adam". The Chazon Ish offers a practical solution for the challenges the Jew faces living in modern society and subject to negative influences.
