The purpose of creation was for man to choose himself to believe in God and meet him face to face. Sleep means that God gave Adam the vision of that nothing happens without God's action. Through the concealment of creation, and the constriction of God's light, man must choose himself to believe in that vision, and realize he is receiving completely from God. This is God's pride in man.
