Description

A careful comparison of the verses at the end of Parshat Bereisht to the verses at the beginning of Parshat Noach will lead us to raise the question: why does Hashem decide to destroy the world, and why does He take an oath never again to bring a Mabul & destroy the earth? Both before and after the Mabul Hashem declares that the power of the evil inclination is too great for man to handle; yet this declaration which causes the decision to destroy the world is reiterated after the Mabul as an explanation for God's oath not to destroy the world. How can the same reasoning lead to two mutually exclusive conclusions?
