Description

How do we impact upon the day of Yom Tov and transform the day into Mikraei Kodesh? Will will introduce a concept - al pi Ramban - of tefillah as a Mitzva DeOraita as an expression of Emuna. The latter includes the acknowledgement not only of the existence of God, but of Him as the source of all goodness that we have received in our life. Out of this sense of recognition and gratitude for Hashem's Chesed we see ourselves as servants to our Master in Heaven who has provided for us & sustained us. The fundamental expression of Emuna is the awareness that since He is the source of goodness, in time of need we can turn to Him alone for protection & salvation. This is Tefillah Be'Et Tzarah, prayer at a moment of crisis. Kabalat Malchuto aleinu.
