Description

We begin the 3rd Perek of Masechet Makot with the Mishna and its list of lavin that generate Malkot. We will study the various groups listed & the chiddush in each case. The braita records a controversy between three tanaim regarding lavin which engender the severe punishments of Karet & Mitat Beit din. Do these engender Malkot if the criminal received a warning regarding Malkot? R' Yishmael says yes, R' Yitzchok says no, and R' Akiva differentiates betwen karet, where ther is Malkot, and Mitat B"D where there is no Malkot.
