Description

From Sod Yesharim of R' Gershon Henoch of Radzyn. Every Rosh HaShana there is a return to the simple Will of God that created the world, that began with the thought of the Jewish people. Everything was in a precreated state until God saw that there was someone, man, who could recognize Him. He then divided everything into parts are ruled over it. At the root of everything, there is no separation. However, the appearance of separation is the cause of pain and suffering. Man was created on Rosh HaShana becasue only man has the ability to return to the root, to realize this world is illusory. Man is surrounded by paradoxes and opposites, yet ultimately knows the synthesis of it all, God's light. The eclipse of this light allows for man to do.
