In this shiur as part of our series on Tefilllah on Rosh Hashana & the whole year 'round, we will analyze some of the the Rav's minhagim, many of which are based on the minhagei HaGra MiVilna. Many of these minhagim are common here in E"Y due to the influence of the Gaon's talmidim on the Ashkenzim, less so in chutz laAretz. The recurring theme is the Halachik concept of Tfillas HaTzibur as an entity of prayer unto itself, and each individual member of the Kahal partakes in this unique "cheftza shel tefillah". What conditions must be met by the Yachid to achieve this kiyum? We will also discuss another unique entity of tefillah, i.e. the integration of shofar & tefillah in the Musaf of Rosh Hashana.
