The mishna establishes that we must feed the pregnant woman who smelled meat on Yom Kippur & has a tremendous desire to eat. Will we allow the violation of Y"K for the sake of saving the life of the fetus even if the woman herself is out of danger? Why do we feed the mother in stages? Can we avoid the danger to the mother without violating Y"K? What is the source for the rule that we violate Y"K for the sake of saving a life? Is this derived from a pasuk or from Svara?
