Description
How do we know that washing is one of the Inuyim of Yom Kippur? In the Aggadeta on Evyasar who was loyal to Dovid HaMelech during the rebellion of Avshalom, we will learn that Evyasar suffered the inuyim that came upon Dovd when the latter fled from Yerushalyim. Among the afflictions suffered by Dovid abstained from washing. What is the source for categorizing going barefoot and abstaining from cohabitation as afflictions (inuyim)? Is it permissible to travel to see one's father or Rebby and cross a river? Is washing permissible for Nitilas Yadayim? For any mitzva? We will see that the Halacha operates with the premise that Inui is the opposite of Ta'anug.
