Description

In this shiur for Parshat Nitzavim/Vayeilach, we will try to collect - from the essays of the Rav - insights into various themes and verses of these parshiot. We believe in the ultimate ge'ulah; yet the Rambam accepts the view that there can be no Geulah without teshuva? Is there a guarantee that Knesset Yisrael will do Teshuva? Do we accept as a tenant of our faith that there will be Teshuva? How do we reconcile the principle "Lo BaShamayim he" with the sugya that the details of the mitzva of miz'be'ach are established by the prophets? In the mitzva of Talmud Torah, is there a kiyum of reading the Torah without understanding it? What is unique about the mitzva of Hakhel? What is the meaning of Torah as testimony?
