Description
In this Sichat Mussar for Parshat Kitavo we will address the curse of "Timhon Levav", the confused heart (Devarim 28:28), as well as the mandate enjoining us to "circumcise" the heart. The Jew is given a pure heart which is contaminated by sin & the world view that we live for the pleasures of the moment. During Elul, we are must recite vidui and confess the sin of a confused & contaminated heart. We must return our hearts to the state of "charus al haluchos"; the luchos symbolize the pure heart of man, the desire to fulfill Hashem's desire even at the expense of forfeiting one's own petty desires. We will study the words of some of the giants of the Mussar movement & learn how to succeed in the avodah of Elu; & prepare ourselves for Y"K.
