In this shiur for Parshat Ki teitzei, we will discuss the Aggadita in Masechet Brachot regading the mitzvah of shiluach hakan. Is the rationale for this mitzvah Divine compassion for the mother bird? Why do we silence the prayer that expresses this very understanding? We will study the sugya in Rosh Hashana regarding the 13 Divine attributes, the prayer of selichot, which was taught to Moshe Rabenu by Hashem. The first two attributes are the very same name of God. What is the meaning of Havaya before sin & Havaya after sin? We will study the insights of the Pachad Yitzchok regarding the second creation, i.e. a universe with Teshuva, and the unique category of Tefillah for Teshuva, the profound Tachanunim & the Bakashat Mechila of Selichot.
