Description

In Parshat Shoftim we find the Torah repeating a Mitzva that was given to Avraham Avinu before Matan Torah and repeated again after Matan Torah. This is the mitzva of Tamim Tihiye, Be Perfect in the path of Hashem. The general rule in this case is that such a mitzvah should apply to non-Jews as well as Jews. Yet we don't find this to be the case. In this shiur we will try to link up the mitzvah of Tamim Tihiye with the mitzvah of Brit Milah and justify that Tamim is an exclusively Jewish mitzvah reflecting the unique and direct relationship between God and the People of His covenant.
