Description

In this Mussar Shmooze for parshat Eikev, based on the Sefer "ViHigadata", we will focus on the verse (10:18) "And You love the Ger and give him bread and clothing" Is this the extent of Hashem's love for the Gerim? And why does Yaakov Avinu ask for no more than bread & clothing? In this shmooze we will ask ourselves: Do we truly know our Avot to emulate them? In the last part of our discussion we will focus on the verse (11:13) "TO SERVE YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART", which is the source for the mitzva of Tefillah. What does it mean to pray "with all one's heart"? We will discuss the situation of one who prays without kavana, has he fulfilled a mitzva? The insight of the Chafetz Chaim & the prayer of Yishmael. The boy who ate the bananas.
