Description

Is Tosefet Shabbat a Torah or a Rabbinic law? Can one recite Kiddush before nightfall and fulfill his Torah obligation? Do the answers to these questions depend on each other? Can a woman recite Birchat HaMazn on behalf of a man? What about a blind person? What about a katan (minor)? In Brisker terminology, is there a chiyuv Derabanan with a Kiyum Deoraita in the case of Tosefet Shabbat? Is Arvut dependent upon the mitzva or upon the Gavra Bar Chiyuva, or both? Can a Katan generate a cheftza shel mitzvah? These and other questions will be addressed in this shiur entitled: and Arvut B'Mitzvot, Part I.
