Description

This is a very useful tool for the undestanding of many sugyot in Shas, and we will begin by analyzing just a few of these. An oath that cannot be binding due to a previous oath, is the second oath null and void from the get-go? Or is the second oath in a state of "temporary suspension", and will take effect when the first oath is removed? Why do the Chachomim have the power to remove a mitzva and require that we be passive, but they cannot command an active violation of a Torah law? Perhaps the Chachomim will only be able to suspend the mitzva but not nullify it. Reb Elchonon teaches us a Derech HaLimud which we will show he derived from his Rebby, Reb Chaim Brisker. In this shiur we will offer two definitions for the concept of Oness.
