Description

From HeiKitzu ViRaninu of Rabbi Chaim Cohen, the "Chalban," pages 31-32. At the root of the difference between the big picture and the details of life is Galus (exile) and Geula (redemption). Being exiled from their Land is a death blow to the Jewish people. It commences a process that eventually dries out the bones of the nation into ash. Exile, represented by the details of Halacha and daily life, are a death sentence for the nation of Israel. There is bitter separation between Jews around the world. Redemption is when the Jewish people unite as one, and the disparate parts are joined together. The only way for this to occur is in the Land of Israel. Outside in the Diaspora it is not fully possible.
