As part of our continuing series on Mitzvot Bein Adam l'chaveiro, and within the context of the Halachot of Lashon HaRa, we will begin the topic of Shidduchim inquiries. We will establish that although one should seek the best marriage partner and can ask about anything that might pertain to marriage, too often there is a phenomenon of an inflated self-image. Therefore we must know what not to ask. The individual who is called upon as a reference must see in the eye of his mind the delicate scales and appreciate the awesome responsibility placed upon him or her. We will address the question of what to say & what not to.
