Description
The mishna - end of Shabbat - addresses the following question: if an animal died on Shabbat can the carcass be used for the feeding of animals? The sugya here and in Beitza establishes that although according to Rebby Yehuda the Neveyla is Muktza since "Muchan LeAdam Lo Havi Muchan LeKlavim", according to Rebby Shimon the meat is not muktza. In this shiur we will analyze the Sugya in the light of the objection raised by Tos'. An animal that dies is not Muchan LeAdam since it was alive going into Shabbos & the Issur Meleches Shechita makes the animal muktza. How then is this a case of Muchan LeAdam? The same q' arises re: the Mishna of an animal that was slaughtered on Shabbos. We will compare the approach of Tos' to that of the Gra.
