Description

Continuing in the packet from Rav Mottel Zilber, Page 12. Like Shabbos, the way Moadim were approached changed dramatically through the eyes of Chassidus. Rosh HaShana, the day of judgement, is also the sweetest day of the year. Until the Baal Shem Tov, Joy was not associated with this day. However, the depth of day lends only to joy. Recognizing that we are the sons and daughters of the King, coronates our lives with meaning. God's judgement is showing us our true value. When He does that, we will want to live up to our status. The school of Mussar spends Rosh HaShana focusing on remembering the bad we did, while Chassidus cares about being remembered by the King. This perspective is founded in Penimiyus haTorah (inner light of Torah)
