Description

Pages 11-12 (in packet). Chassidus brought a change to every aspect of life. One area this change is highlighted is Shabbos and Moadim (festivals). What was Shabbos like before chassidus? Certain great individuals were able to elevate their weekday reality into the sublime. But this was not the status quo, the masses did not experience a change in reality. Chassidus brought a new view point - the "holiness of time." Shabbos and Chol were different realities altogether. The epicenter of this change was the table of the Tzaddik. Shabbos was the fire and the tzaddik a pot of water. Together the pot bubbled over and the people were able to experience the feeling of boiling water, they were able to taste Shabbos.
