Description

Rav Mottel continues to discuss the difference between Mussar and Chassidus. The state of the world after eating from the Tree of Knowledge is sickness. A Baal Mussar recognizes the craziness in which he lives, in the world of doubt. He clarifies Torah's truth versus the world's truth. Therefore, mussar attunes man to the difference between a healthy and sickened state. Then he travels to the "doctor" for a prescription. Chassidus is a way of mussar. In this way, a person recognizes two forces battling within him - animal and Godly soul. The focus of Mussar is what a person can become while Chassidus focus on who a person is at his essence.
