Methodology of Psak Halacha (Yeshivat Har Etzion): This shiur deals with cases where poskim rule on the basis of the spirit of the law rather than just the letter. It deals with the theoretical background through passages in both Rambam and Ramban, and then examines two test cases. The first is the Noda BeYehuda's teshuva about hunting and the second is Rabbi Moshe Feinstein's teshuva about platonic relationships. This is the fourth shiur in the series.
