The shiur is comprised of three sections: 1) The value and importance of preparing oneself before performing a mitzvah. 2) Why are we permitted to eat honey? It is a derivative of a bee which is a non kosher species? 3) Why are there many who use only honey on Rosh Hashanah and not salt? Why would salt take away from our Rosh Hashanah experience? Why don't we use salt on the night of the pesach seder?
