Rabbi Schachter,

You seem to quote the Rishonim who say that if it was a Birchas HaNehenin, then we'd need to make more than one Bracha and not just on Motzei Shabbos. I saw that the Aruch Hashulchan is not concerned by this point. He notes that we already DO make a brocho each day on light. Yotzer Or U'Voreh Choshech etc

Rabbi Schachter,

On this matter, you quote your father, shlita, and a visit to a Jewish Museum. A problem I have with what you note is

a) they are vastly different weights. Is the suggestion that they were indeed the same size and almost the same face but different weights?

b) Which version of the coins are we talking about. From what I've seen, coins changed depending on the time they were issued. Do we know that when they said Sela and Pundyon it was at a specific time when they were indeed the same size (and similar face)?
