Why does the Torah have to trace the lineage of Pinchas back to his zeida, Aaron? Why do the detractors of Pinchas want to excommunicate Pinchas? Did Zimri have any holy motivation? What motivated Pinchas to jeopardize his reputation and kill Zimri? Our Parsha continues with the long section of the census counting the families of the tribes, and the request of the Bnot Tzalfchad for a portion of the Land, the choice of Yehoshua, & ends with the section on the Tamid. How do these various themes connect to form a single whole? In this shiur we will attempt to define a single underlying principle that connects the varies pieces of the puzzle that is Parshat Pinchas. Our goal is the integrity of the Parsha & the inherent message for our lives.
