Description

This shiur is dedicated to an understanding of the unity & integrity of Parshat Baha'alotcha, specifically to the first five themes of the Parsha, Chapters 8, 9, and half of 10 of Sefer Bamidbar, beginning with the mitzva of Ner She'bi"Mikdash, through the sections of Kiddush HaLevi'im, Pesach Sheini, Ananei HaKavod, and Chatzotzrot. The central idea that connects these five subjects is the temporary Mishkan of Chutz LaAretz, not the permanent Beit HaBechira of Yerushalayim, and the Mishkan symbolizes the Beit HaKneset of the Jew in the diaspora defined by Chazal as the Mikdash Me'at. If we understand the centrality of the synagogue and the Beit HaMedrash in Jewish life, we can reveal the key to the survival of the Jew in Galut.
