Description
At the beginning of Avot, the Anshei Knesset HaGedola mandated "Asu Syag LaTorah", "Stay far from temptation". In this Sicha, we will reject the all too common attitude that one should subject himself to temptation in order to prove his ability to overcome the Yetzer HaRah and succeed in the Nisayon. We will prove from many sources in the Torah & in the statements of Chazal, that the opposite is true. One must literally run away from temptation. This is the legacy of Yosef HaTzaddik in the episode of Ashet Photiphar. One who comes too close to sin will fall into the ditch when a simple wind blows him into the pit.
