Description

Did Bnei Yisrael leave Egypt as redeemed people armed and ready for military confrontation? Or were they still too young as a nation, suffering from a slave mentality developed over the course of centuries? Why did HaShem have to harden the heart of Pharoh & Mitzrayim in order to get them to pursue Bnei Yisrael? Wouldn't they do so on their own? How did Pharoh know that Bnei Yisrael had no intention of returning? How did the Jews react when they saw the Mitrim in hot pursuit? With prayer? Or with an insolent, rebellious attitude denying the great Divine salvation? The verses seem to contradict each other. These and other questions will be addressed in this shiur.
