In Gashmiyus, the Kli Yakar explains, we should say "Yesh li kol." However, in Ruchniyus, we should strive for more. Yaakov Avinu builds a Bayis for himself and Sukkot for his animals. The Malbim presents a beautiful and important explanation. In Chinuch, the pay is not that great, but the long term benefits are out of this world. The old Mesorah is beautiful.
