Description

Death is often spoken about in science, medicine, and in everyday life. But what does death actually mean? In this presentation, Rabbi Dr. David Shabtai, of the Wexner Kollel Elyon at Yeshiva University, speaks about the medical, ethical, and halachic perspectives on death and organ donation. Using the science and biology behind brain death, Rabbi David Shabtai presents the ethical approaches to understanding death and its ramifications. Through exploring these complex topics, Rabbi Dr. David Shabtai also presents how Halacha responds, reacts, and deals with these fascinating issues in one the most important and controversial topics pertaining to Jewish medical ethics.
