Description

In 1959-60 (following the death of Rabbi Yitzhak Herzog), it was widely speculated that Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik would be a candidate for the position of Chief Rabbi of the State of Israel. This opened a unique period both of very personal as well as public events in Rabbi Soloveitchik’s life, which form a fascinating chapter in his biography.
