Rabbi Dovid Gottlieb


Rabbi Dovid Gottlieb is the former rabbi of Congregation Shomrei Emunah, a large and prominent synagogue in Baltimore, MD. In August, 2010 R. Gottlieb and his family made aliyah to Israel, where they currently live in Ramat Shilo, a suburb of Beit Shemesh.
Since making aliyah R. Gottlieb has taught at Yeshivat Shaalvim, Yeshivat Har Etzion, Midreshet AMIT, and Mercaz Tiferet, and was commissioned by OU Press to write a book about the laws of Yom Tov.
A highly regarded speaker and teacher, R. Gottlieb has served as a Scholar in Residence and guest lecturer for numerous communities in the United States and Israel.
R. Gottlieb received his rabbinic ordination from Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS), where he was also a member of their prestigious Wexner Kollel Elyon. R. Gottlieb has published numerous scholarly articles, co-edited two Torah publications, and in the winter of 2003 he authored Ateret Yaakov (Hebrew), a sefer of essays about a wide range of halachic topics.
